The Men’s Stifel Birds of Prey Audi FIS Ski World Cup is now less than a month away, and the Vilar Performing Arts Center is adding more evening performances to complement the daytime festivities in Beaver Creek during the Olympic qualifying competition December 4-7.
Big Head Todd and The Monsters will return to the Vilar on Friday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Colorado-based rock-‘n’-roll quartet played to a sold-out crowd at the Vilar during Birds of Prey last winter, and we expect tickets for this one to go quickly, too.
The following night, early 2000’s powerhouse rock band Switchfoot will perform on Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m., bringing classics such as “Meant to Live,” and “Dare You to Move” to the Vilar audience. Both shows are sure to match the stoke-fueled excitement that the race weekend brings to Beaver Creek year after year.
“There’s nothing like pairing world-class ski racing with world-class live music! Big Head Todd and Switchfoot both bring a rock and roll energy that’s the perfect soundtrack to Birds of Prey,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director for the Vilar. “Big Head Todd had such a great time at last year’s show that Todd called out from the stage, ‘Let’s do this again next year, Beaver Creek!’ We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them back to the Vilar.”
Also at the Vilar during Birds of Prey this year: two back-to-back showings of Warren Miller’s new film, “SNO-CIETY” on Thursday, December 4 at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. This year’s installment celebrates ski culture and community with stunning cinematography and inspiring stories from around the globe.
Tickets for all three shows are on sale now. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit vilarpac.org or call 970-845-8497.
In addition to these shows at the Vilar, the Stifel Birds of Prey Audi FIS Ski World Cup weekend will come alive with festivities in Beaver Creek Village December 4-7, including a live bib draw, athlete autograph signings, fireworks, free live music in Birds of Prey Way, and more.
