Please note: It is important to keep eating and hydrating during the day. It is encouraged that you bring your personal favorite snacks or energy bars with you to keep you going between meals. Due to the logistical complexity of this event, we are not able to accommodate special dietary or allergy needs. If you have special dietary needs, or have any food allergies, you will need to provide food and/or beverages for yourself.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Keeping our volunteers energized and hydrated is a top priority for the Stifel Birds of Prey event team! We’ll provide nutritious meals and hydration every day you volunteer to be on course, but serving hundreds of meals on the mountain is no small task. Our Food Services Crew is dedicated to making sure you’re fueled and ready to go.
Start your day at the Powder 8 Restaurant (located below Chair 6 Centennial Express), where breakfast will be served beginning at the hours shown on your schedule. Enjoy house-made breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, oatmeal, and more, plus a choice of beverage at no charge with your volunteer credential on the days you are volunteering. There will also be hot and cold water stations available for you to fill your thermoses. To-go containers are not permitted at the breakfast buffet. Thank you for enjoying your meal with us!
Grab-and-Go lunches will be available each morning at the Commissary in Ford Hall. Expect fresh sandwiches, chips, cookies, and fruit.
On the 6 training and race days, we’ll offer ‘grillables’ like brats, hot dogs, beef, and beyond burgers to cook on course. Grills, condiments, buns, and utensils will be provided.
Hot soup will be available at the Powder 8 breakfast buffet each morning. Bring your own wide-mouth, leakproof thermos to enjoy hot soup out on the course. Soup will not be available at the Bird Feeder due to logistics.
Pro Tip: There is no food service at the Bird Feeder, so make sure to pick up your lunch before heading up Chair 6. Please take only what you’ll eat to reduce waste, don’t bring back unused items, and adjust your selection for the next day if needed.
Be sure to bring your own reusable beverage container for water or Gatorade. Insulated thermoses are recommended to prevent freezing in cold weather.
Pro Tip: We suggest having at least one thermos for water and another for soup or hot drinks.
The Bird Feeder is located at the Top of Lift 9 – Bird of Prey Express and is available for your use as needed. It’s a great place to warm up, relax, and recharge during your day on the mountain.
While no full meals or food distribution will be available at the Bird Feeder, we will have a variety of grab-and-go snacks along with hot and cold beverages for you to refill your insulated container or hydration pack.
