3 tips for spectators

The Xfinity Birds of Prey Audi FIS Ski World Cup makes its return to Beaver Creek Dec. 2-4, 2022, bringing the world’s fastest men on skis back to the course voted No. 1 by the athletes and coaches who participate on the Audi FIS World Cup circuit.

While Birds of Prey is a place where traditions continue and continue to be made, here’s a look at three things that are different in 2022 that will help you spectate like a pro:

Early start times

Fans of Birds of Prey, be prepared — races kick off slightly earlier than previous years. The race schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, Dec. 2, 2022: Downhill, 10:15 a.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022: Downhill, 10 a.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022: Super G, 10 a.m.

Fans are encouraged to allow one hour of travel time from the base of Beaver Creek Resort to Red Tail Stadium to avoid missing any of the action.

Watch from the village

New this year, a special viewing area will be available for spectators in Birds of Prey Way within Beaver Creek Village with big-screens showing the live action from the hill. Food and drinks will be available in the ice rink area of Beaver Creek Village, with sponsor booths, giveaways and more throughout the day.

Speed, speed and more speed

This year’s event has an exciting twist with two downhills and a super G race on the schedule at Beaver Creek. This is the first time that two downhills and a super G are planned, as Beaver Creek has traditionally hosted World Cup events across disciplines since the first races were held here in 1997.
